To make sure no one gets confused that I am the actual author and not someone copying when I start adding original work, I will be writing something about this in my publishing channel descriptions at my actual book retailers. Definitely Amazon. It’s another reason why I will be sticking with one name in my publishing.

Original Fiction (Fantasy with a touch of Scifi)

Apocalyptic Fairytale Serial (Remaster) Challenge Level 7. (Will be divided for publishing and paperbacking, but totally kept as one gigantic story on Wattpad. I will be adding pretty header images into it too.

Apocalyptic Fairytale What-If: (Remaster) Challenge Level 5.

Dark Water (Brand New)

Chicano Magical Academy (Brand New, Working Title)

Durango’s Little Mission (Brand New)

The Strongest of Them All (Working Title) (Remaster/ Rewrite/Brand New) Lots of editing, new parts. Challenge level 6. (I am going to write it, the way I’ve always wanted to write it.)

Three originals that are still in KU that I will be taking and rewriting for you to read for free.

Possibly two other originals. It depends how it all goes.

This isn’t going to be the hugest list, because these books are only the best. Not my favorite. Not somewhat memorable. To my mind, and my opinion only of course, these are the best. Whether it is their atmosphere, the writing style, I don’t know for sure. I just know that they have the following in common:

I have read them multiple times. I have them printed/downloaded/own them at least once somewhere. They emotionally impacted me. I remember them at least 3-many years later . . . yes, they have staying power on the mind. So, if you are looking for an exciting new book that I consider some top-notch wonderful work, look no further than this list. (Original is at the bottom and may cost.)

Best Fanfiction

Fanfiction: Ranma 1/2: Hearts of Ice by Krista Perry: I physically used to read this story to my sister after high school. I actually read it at the authors website. A high degree of effort went into this wonderful piece. It takes the reader on a journey of the utmost emotion. It gets the art of writing fighting correctly (insanely hard), has a great amount of detail to visualize all your canon characters, as well as creating and growing new personalities into new and old characters alike. This author worked on this book for several years. It can be found on my list of favorites on Fanfiction.net and on Archive of Our own. I don’t have the same degree of time, but I am trying to go through and review it again as I can.

Summary: Shampoo casts a spell with dragon blood and sends Akane to the realm of gods and demons. Ranma decides to get her back, and nothing – not even insanity or death – will stop him. Hearts of Ice is complete as of 6/20/2009.

Rule Breaking Book

Fanfiction: Pretender: Hero’s Heart by Mirage: Oh momma, I love this book! It’s not done yet, and I am still waiting for updates, but it’s so good. It hasn’t obviously been around completed for years because it’s still being written, but it’s still so good, it needed an honorable mention. The linkup is to Missing Pieces where it can easily be found. If you are a Pretender fan, then you should really know Missing Pieces. It is the place for Pretender Fanfiction. A Hero’s heart has such a simple summary I almost missed out on this great piece. I bypassed it several times until I was finally like, might as well. Best idea ever. Best. Idea. Ever. To have clicked that story.

When Jarod and his clone are presumed dead and further cloning attempts prove futile, Raines is determined to find another way. He finds it in Dry River, Arizona.

Fanfiction: Gundam Wing: Zero Soul by Vegie Kun: When a great writer writes fanfiction. For some reason, this book captured the very depth of the series for me, while introducting new concepts. It felt canon, yet refreshing and new. I loved it, and even this many years, I still love it. Zero Soul touched on so many emotional levels. Seeing Relena in a new light, feeling Hero come to his own fears and realizations, awesome fighting, and so much more. You just can’t go wrong with Zero Soul.

Summary:Who says there can only be one ‘Perfect Soldier? What if there was such a way to create a weapon that could rival the WingZERO pilot? Nearly two years after Mariemaia’s coup d’etat, a new but familiar threat rises out of the ashes to reclaim the Earth and Colonies. Their weapon of choice? Something the Gundam pilots can never hope to defeat less they risk inciting another war.

Best Original Fiction: Okay, in order to enjoy this you are probably going to have to fork over some money unless the authors are in some kind of program that you have. Still, if you like original work, then these? These books are more than worth it. (Currently one of them is in select, so if you have select, you could pick it up to read for free. I don’t have Amazon affiliation so no worries. The other one currently is also free. Quite amazing.)

Dropcloth Angels: This is a masterpiece in sheep’s clothing, I am telling you right now. Supremely underrated. I knew it before it was published. There was a site once called Authonomy where authors tried to get published with Harper (Long since expired and gone) where I read it, word for word, and I salivated over it when I discovered the author published it. It is mature, to the highest degree. This is horror, and the cover does it no justice. This is better than horror though, this is fantasy horror because our main character is a hooker with an imaginary monkey.

Let that sink in. A hooker with an imaginary monkey. It’s a cannibalistic serial killer, with the ‘hero’ being a hooker with an imaginary monkey.

Yes, the monkey plays a part in it all too. I loved this book, so I hope you consider checking it out. Here is the summary:

He came, He sawed, He ate…

All that are left behind of the victims are their heads, placed together with the painted angels, rendered in the victim’s own blood. The acts, captured on video, are sent elsewhere… Now Zoe Beaupre, a hooker with an imaginary monkey and sister of the serial killer’s latest conquest, must band together with a mismatched posse of saviors in order to bring him down. Little does Zoe know, but the deeper into the madman’s world they trek, more and more is revealed about snuff films…and Gideon, the puppet master who will stop at nothing to see her dead.

I have a feeling there were some external issues why it never landed big. Yet, the writing. It’s big and it’s good. Never disappoints.

Gastien by Caddy Rowland: Top book of all time? Yes. This is a five book series, but my favorite is book one, with some of book two. However, there is a very big warning that this is extremely violent and sexual in nature. And yet? It’s so good. This book just . . . FEEL. My favorite is book one where we see a young boy learning to live. And I mean live. Survival. And he puts his own life on the line to live the way he wants. He does everything, even goes way too far, for his dream. (Once again, extreme warning. I did not need this book to be so graphic to enjoy it. I would have enjoyed a version actually without all the sexual detailed content. This book couldn’t be the same with the sexytimes removed of course, and the more risque stuff . . . I think I gave enough warning.)

Currently free right now. I don’t know if it will stay this way.

Gastien has dreams far bigger than a mere peasant has a right to. When he flees the farm for Paris, the late nineteenth century bohemian era is in full swing. Color has always called to him, beseeching him to capture it on canvas and show people a new way of seeing things. His father belittled his dream of being an artist and tried to beat him into giving it up. The dream wouldn’t die, but Gastien would have had he not left.

He also yearns to become a great lover. After the years of anguish he has endured at the hand of his father, it would be heaven to feel pleasure instead of pain.

However, the city of Paris has a ruthless agenda. Unless a man has money and connections, Paris unfeelingly crushes dreams and destroys souls. With neither of the required assets, Gastien faces living in alleys, digging in trash bins for food, and sleeping where a man is often killed for his threadbare blanket.

Left with only his dreams, Gastien stubbornly pushes on. He vows that absolutely nothing will stop him, not yet realizing what keeping that vow might mean. Sometimes the “impossible” is possible – but the cost can be extremely high.

I have been writing for many years. My content spans more than a decade. Just like artists had certain periods, I did too, and it was marked with a new pen name. Nowadays, most of my work falls between Melanie Ray and Serena Spacey. If you get to ff.net and look inside the work, you will see different names too. All of the names I’ve ever used:

msmelanie (mostly just silly humor), fondestdesire (Rom Com Fantasy), paradoxiac (Comic Tragedy Romance), Paradox (about the same as paradoxiac, except that was strictly Animaniacs), Melanie Ray (Learning Romance, Drama, and Mainstream Professional Writing) and Serena Spacey. (My current Transformation mostly. It’s a Name of Experience. Usually Scifi Romantic Fantasy with Refreshingly new plots)

Right now I am writing somewhere between Melanie Ray and Serena Spacey, but I am trying to just lean to Serena Spacey. A lot of my covers feature either or both names too though, and if I draw some line in the sand, then it gets awkward explaining how I am both at different sites.

I have tried adding books quickly before. It sounds easy. You can see how many books are already on the site alone. So why have I added a calendar?

Steady pace, like a syllabus. I brought conduit tale to here and wattpad in three days. That’s sixty chapters of copy and pasting info, twice. Meaning truly it was 120 chapters. Add to that all the several things I was adjusting on the site. My hands were starting to hurt and it was boring. And sixty is not my heaviest. I tend to write a lot of chapters.

However if I don’t add anything, it gets quite hard to want to get everything up. How hard? It took a day to write everything out in a paper and about three days to put out one scheduled month out. On the Calendar. Yeah. That was just writing names on a calendar. I have quite a lot to do!

And yet, I want to start new stories. I want to contine new stories and my alternates. That is why I created my site. So, by putting my pace to only a few things a day (the calendar only handles so many events) I can concentrate on my new content while letting others enjoy my older content (which is new to them).

Another great thing is if something happens like I feel sick, I have family priorities, wattpad isn’t working, etc. Then it is not that hard to catch up, and with a calendar, there’s no thinking. I know exactly what I need to do. I do better that way.

So I am sorry if you can see in a month that I don’t have your favorite story out when it should be completed. I am not lazy, I just have more than one work to put out, not to mention new stuff to work on. Which is fun.:)

If you see something that is a long way off, but should be done that you want. Please just email me and I will see what I can do.

All of my Gundam Wing Books I am going to keep off-site unless I see a strict need to bring them here. Gundam Wing is a show I love. Honestly, it was the very first show that made me discover fanfiction in the first place, and it was the first fanfiction I ever wrote. As thus, there aren’t a ton of stories from it that I would . . . want to salvage.

I made Gundam Wing when I was in more of a humorous romance stage. It was fun, and I did really enjoy it, but I don’t foresee myself going back into it anytime soon, and none of my little Gundam Wing Stories were ever taken down from ff.net except one. They are all decent with no cussing basically. Very Teen or below so I don’t see fanfiction.net having a problem with them.

I also wrote many of them before I even entered the end of Gundam Wing the series, saw Endless Waltz, or read any of the comics. As such, there are certain developments between certain characters that just feel awkward now.

You can visit my direct profile at fanfiction.net here and see all my assorted Gundam Wing titles. Be forewarned though. These are around the time of 1999 and onward when they were created. You aren’t going to be getting high quality, there will definitely be amateurish writing, and so on.

FAQ: (Appears again on FAQ Page)

Do you plan on doing anymore Gundam Wing?

I do have one story that I never put up, never got too far into, but basically fell in love with. The reason I didn’t put it up though was because it was about a boy who was even more sensitive than Quatre. He could see and talk to spirits. It was chilling, and I wanted him to be picked up by Quatre and the other pilots, who would be able to find a way to help him cope with his extra sensitive ability.

Yeah, except it was like a couple months before The Sixth Sense trailer came out! I was sooo mad, I never picked it up again. Still, it had a really good concept, and I loved the fact it would be my first venture into horror. So, there is a slight chance I may write it just because I did love the aspect of it. It’s just at the time I didn’t see it as being something I should suddenly be writing. However, I did actually make a cover for it. So . . . we’ll see.

You will be able to find all of these stories at fanfiction.net. Each one has been linked for your convenience. All of them are entirely complete.
